A Hunt Valley Excursion

Nicole and I decided to take a bike ride up to Hunt Valley the other day. Our friend Katie, whom Nicole met at Atwaters, told us about a cool swimming hole off the NCR Recreational Trail that’s up that way and since it was so screamin’ hot, we decided to go for it.

It was about a 2 hour ride to Hunt Valley from Fells Point and before we caught the trail we went to the Pennsylvania Dutch Market to get a cold drink. The market is great and used to be in Westminster when Nicole and I lived there, but it moved awhile ago to Hunt Valley and brought back some good memories… even though my home made root beer sucked!

The NCR Trail is basically hard packed gravel and isn’t so fun to bike on. We found the part of the trail where we heard the swimming hole was but after a 15 minute exploration in the muggy, buggy heat, we just concluded a nice shower would be comparable and headed back into Hunt Valley.

We took the light rail back to the city, but first we went to Wegman’s grocery store. Nicole thought I needed the experience. As you can see, it is quite an expansive place and I’m glad I don’t have to shop there, but it is neat to be surrounded by so much food.

The Light Rail dropped us off near Camden Yards and then we took the short ride home.
